Thoughts On The New GAP Logo

0-gap

The new GAP logo is nothing but proof that the graphic design students that major universities have been pumping out in the last 15 years have finally made their way into major corporations. Even businesses like GAP who pride themselves in having good design now seem to be having trouble finding real designers. This logo looks like something straight out of a student portfolio from the late 1990s whose favorite thing to say was "I know Photoshop." There once was a time when actual artists did graphic design but the computer seems to have changed all that. Any thirteen year old with a copy of MS Paint can whip up something for their uncle's crappy dot com business or in this case, major apparel company. Goodbye old GAP logo.

Reworking the Mraf

Mraf.com officially went into redesign last night. I've accumulated a small network of blogs and mraf related pages and it's time to condense and focus. I hope to have some new ideas and web art up for show soon.
